Dying to Learn About Dyeing? Learn from One of the Best…Ellen Minard. This dying workshop is the first in a series of wonderful Artisán Knitworks events that will be held in Chelsea’s fabulous Train Station (AKA: The Depot). It is a really cool space which has been refurbished for such occasions. ﷯There can’t possibly be a better way to start Depot Days than bringing in Ellen Minard, the nationally known owner of Ellen’s Half-Pint Farm in Norwich, Vermont. Ellen makes the good stuff … some of the most extraordinary hand-painted yarn in the United States. We have a nice selection of her work almost always. She’s also a truly gifted teacher – a veteran of dozens of workshops at Stitches events, fiber festivals around the country, and other venues. Ellen will show you how to make your own hand-dyed yarn and sock blanks! The workshop spans Sunday and Monday. There will be an introductory material and a reception (with abundant snacks) on Sunday afternoon into the evening on August 12 at the shop On Monday is the full-day workshop from about 9:00 to 5:00. Ellen then leaves for the Michigan Fiber Festival, which occurs a few days later. Participants will enjoy a 10% discount on all full-price merchandise at Artisan Knitworks … including some of Ellen’s yarns, both our supply and hers … on both Sunday and Monday. Special advice: You should plan to wear old clothes on Monday – including old shoes or flip-flops. If you have a face mask, the kind you might wear for painting, bring it along.
