9/29 – The Mad Hatter: Make Endless Knitted Hats – A Stash Buster

Description

It’s no secret that we love hats at Artisan Knitworks. So join the hat-making clan! Cut loose, and liberate yourself from the need to buy endless hat patterns. This fun workshop permits you to make hats in any size with any weight of yarn you have at hand – or any combination of yarns that you think might be fun. You’ll bring some yarns from your stash (leftovers!), and you’ll have access to our huge pile of stash yarns. You’ll also be given a handout with charts and dozens of ideas for bucket or slouch hats. And we’ll spend some time talking about colors, textures, and why some yarns seem to work better in combination than others.

Materials: For a standard hat, 100 grams of wool or wool-blend yarn, any weight except lace or fingering, 16-inch circular and DP needles appropriate to yarn. For experimentation, 5-10 stray balls of yarn, any weight, any texture, preferably animal fiber or blend; size 11-15 circular and DP needles. Metal tapestry needle. Scissors. Warning: You may not get your stray balls of yarn back! But you’ll have others to take home.

For most classes, we hope you’ll use our beautiful yarns! We offer a 10% discount on full-priced materials to be used in the class.

All classes include detailed handouts or (as relevant) printed patterns.

Classes may require a minimum number of participants.  If Artisan Knitworks or the instructor has to cancel, a full refund (check), registration in another class, or store credit (120% of tuition) will be offered.  If you have to cancel your class registration up to 7 days before the event, we offer the same choices.  However, we cannot offer these choices if you cancel within the 7-day window.
