Description

In this 5-part workshop, we will build a drop-dead-gorgeous afghan or blanket in heirloom-quality, washable wool.    The pattern was developed by Rick Mondragon and others for Knitters Magazine in 2003.  Each square is a miniature work of art in standard and modified Aran motifs.  We supply the pattern (copies with permission) and help you, step by step, to master Aran and Celtic patterning.  These skills, in turn, will help you make Aran sweaters.

Bonus:  From September 12-14, you can meet Rick in person!  See event schedule.

Skills required:  Intermediate knitter and above; advanced beginners with experience

Materials:  Pattern provided – about 2000 yards worsted-weight wool (classic models are natural white, but color is your choice; we suggest only that it not be too dark).  Appropriate needles.  Scissor, yarn needle, tape.

For most classes, we hope you’ll use our beautiful yarns! We offer a 10% discount on full-priced materials for class use.

All classes include detailed handouts or (as relevant) printed patterns.

Classes may require a minimum number of participants.  If Artisan Knitworks or the instructor has to cancel, a full refund (check), registration in another class, or store credit (120% of tuition) will be offered.  If you have to cancel your class registration up to 7 days before the event, we offer the same choices.  However, we cannot offer these choices if you cancel within the 7-day window.
