Dyeing Workshop and Trunk Show

Ellen's 1/2 Pint Farm

JOIN ELLEN MINARD (Ellen’s Half-Pint Farm in Norwich, Vermont) for another weekend of serious fun!

Beginning on Friday, April 21, through Sunday, April 23, Ellen returns to Chelsea for a Friday night reception and two days of intensive, hands-on experience with yarn dyeing!  This is the master dyer that indies have turned to for decades when they decide to learn the craft.  Workshops are held at Chelsea’s large, airy Depot, a block away from Artisan Knitworks.   Workshop fees include a top-quality skein of fingering weight merino yarn, deli lunch, and refreshments (morning and afternoon).  Additional yarn will be available in several weights and fibers at reduced prices.  The optional, free Friday night reception at Artisan Knitworks (4:30-6:00 or so at 105 N. Main, Chelsea) provides an opportunity for everyone to get to know Ellen and to peruse the trunk show.

Veterans of the workshops will attest to her spectacular teaching ability.  It’s not just for beginners:  Experienced hand-dyers augment their skills and benefit from a conversation with one of the nation’s best-known crafters.  NOTE:  While the Sunday workshops generally are designed as a continuation of the Saturday sessions, experienced indie dyers can attend the Sunday workshop only for 100.00 as space permits.  Call Artisan Knitworks after April 16 to check on availability.

If you can’t register for workshops, plan to stop by during the trunk show or the Friday night reception.  While part of the show will remain at Artisan Knitworks after Ellen leaves, selections will be limited.

If you are coming from out of town, we recommend the Comfort Inn, Chelsea, which is a short drive to Artisan Knitworks.  Make reservations early or you’ll be disappointed.

Cost:  Saturday, $100.00; both days, $180.00.   Includes lunch(es), a skein of fingering yarn, and refreshments.

The workshop is limited to 18 students.  We reserve the right to check for vaccination cards.  Thanks for understanding this requirement.  Masks are optional.
