Description

In this two-day workshop, we’ll intensively explore materials and tools, the basics of crochet, a range of stitch patterns, shaping techniques, and more! Along the way, you’ll pick up a number of tips and tricks that will prevent trouble in the future. You’ll have a free book, which has excellent drawings of basic moves as well as an array of stitch patterns to be used either for cotton washcloths or blanket squares. You’ll also get a hat pattern to be worked from the top down (an Artisan Knitworks design called the Mad Hatter). Remember: Here, as with all of our courses, you can keep coming back until the relevant skills have been mastered!

Materials:  About 10 grams / 60 yards of DK or worsted-weight yarn, preferably natural fiber. Appropriate hooks (DK, sizes F or G, worsted, sizes H or I). Metal tapestry needle. Scissors.

Homework:  None.

For most classes, we hope you’ll use our beautiful yarns! We offer a 10% discount on full-priced materials for class use.

All classes include detailed handouts or (as relevant) printed patterns.

Classes may require a minimum number of participants.  If Artisan Knitworks or the instructor has to cancel, a full refund (check), registration in another class, or store credit (120% of tuition) will be offered.  If you have to cancel your class registration up to 7 days before the event, we offer the same choices.  However, we cannot offer these choices if you cancel within the 7-day window.
